Are you planning to skip the iPhone 15 and upgrade to a new iPhone in 2024? If that’s the case, you might want to start taking early steps to prepare for the iPhone 16 release date.

This fall, Apple will release its new iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 15 Pro Max will arrive September.

If you aren’t in love with what you’re hearing about Apple’s 2023 iPhones, you might be thinking about upgrading next year. That may not be a bad idea.

We’ve already heard quite a bit about the iPhone 16, the presumed name of the 2024 iPhones, and what we’ve heard might impress you.

If you do decide to wait for the iPhone 16, which may include a higher-end iPhone 16 Ultra, there are some things you’ll want to do before the devices arrive on shelves.

It’s early, so there’s no reason to go overboard, but taking some steps ahead of time will ensure you’re fully prepared to buy an iPhone 16 model when the time comes.

You may even decide buy another iPhone model or a device outside of Apple’s ecosystem long before the company announces the iPhone 16 series.

In this guide we’ll take prospective buyers through some important steps to take ahead of Apple’s inevitable iPhone 16 launch next year.

Keep Track of iPhone 16 Rumors

We’ve got a long way to go before Apple announces the iPhone 16 and in that time we’re going to hear a lot more about its features and its release.

If you’re even remotely interested in upgrading to one of the 2024 iPhones, you’ll want to regularly, or periodically, check the rumor mill for the latest information. The devices are still in development and Apple’s plans can, and probably will, change.

Tracking iPhone 16 rumors is important because it will a) help you get familiar with potential features/changes and b) help you set proper expectations. This is crucial because if you don’t like what you’re hearing, you may want to start looking for another device.

For the latest iPhone 16 news, check out our guide.

Check Your Upgrade Status

As we push through 2023 and 2024, you’ll want to keep an eye on your upgrade status to ensure you’ll be in good standing when the iPhone 16 release date drops. Again, it’s safe to assume it will land in September, 2024.

Checking your current upgrade status is extremely easy and it only takes a few minutes. Here’s how to quickly check your upgrade eligibility online at VerizonAT&TT-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular. You can also call customer support if you’d prefer to check that way.

Get Familiar with iOS

If you don’t currently own an iPhone, or you’re using an iPhone with an outdated operating system, use this time to get familiar with the iPhone’s operating system.

Apple will release iOS 17 alongside the iPhone 15 series later this year. It won’t be the software that powers the iPhone 16 models, but it’ll still important to get familiar with it. This is especially true if you plan to move from Android to iOS in 2024.

If you’re curious about iOS 17, take a look at our guide. The software is in beta right now, but you can get comfortable with its look and feel right now. You’ll also want to go hands-on when it arrives in the fall.

The iPhone 16 series will almost certainly run iOS 18 out of the box. Apple will likely announce iOS 18 on stage during WWDC 2024 in June.

In addition to keeping an eye out for iPhone 16 rumors, you may want to track iOS 18 rumors as well.

Figure Out How Much Storage You Need

You should start thinking about how much storage you might want on your next phone. Selecting the right amount of iPhone storage will help you save money and avoid headaches down the road.

Some of you will be fine choosing an iPhone 16 with the least amount of storage, but others will want the peace of mind that comes with having a lot of space.

We haven’t heard anything about iPhone 16 storage options yet, but don’t be surprised if they mirror the iPhone 15’s.

To get a head start, have a look at our iPhone 14 storage guide.

Look at Other iPhones

Before you decide to wait for the iPhone 16’s release, you’ll want to look at Apple’s current iPhone models. You might find a model you really like.

First, we recommend taking a look at Apple’s current flagships which include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Go hands-on if you can.

You’ll also want to look at the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. We also suggest taking a look at the budget iPhone SE 3.

This fall, you’ll also want to get familiar with the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max and see if one might be a good fit.

Waiting for the iPhone 16 might seem like a great idea, but you might be much better off with another iPhone. You won’t know until you do your homework.

Research Other iPhone 16 Alternatives

You should also look at current, and upcoming, iPhone 16 alternatives.

There are a bunch of excellent iPhone alternatives out there on the market right now, but here are some of our current favorites:

You’ll also want to keep an eye on upcoming alternatives, like the Google Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S24 series, as well.

Make a Plan for Your Current Phone

Use this time to come up with a plan for your current phone. The iPhone 16 series won’t be cheap and if you keep your phone in good condition, you should be able to save quite a bit of money.

If you want to trade in your device to offset the cost of your next phone, be it the iPhone 16 or another device, you’ll want to keep it in the best condition possible. This is how you’ll get the most money back from resellers, your carrier, or Apple when iPhone 16 trade-in offers go live.

If you don’t plan to trade it in, you might know of a friend or relative who could make use of your current phone. Ask around and see if anyone might need a hand-me-down next year. You might also look into donating your phone to charity.

Decide on a Carrier

If you’re unhappy with your provider’s coverage or data plan, dig into the competition and see if you can find a better fit for your iPhone 16.

Every carrier has pros and cons, but you might find one that stands out. If you’re interested in switching carriers, make sure you shop around in the months ahead.

6 Reasons to Wait for the iPhone 16 & 5 Reasons Not To

Wait for the iPhone 16 Ultra

Wait for the iPhone 16 Ultra

As of right now, the iPhone Pro Max is Apple's highest-end iPhone model. That could change in 2024 according to a source who is almost always accurate with his information.

In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says Apple might add an even higher-end iPhone Ultra above its Pro models in 2024.

It's unclear how Apple might do this exactly, but Gurman believes it might come down to the iPhone 16 Ultra having an even faster chip, an even bigger display, additional improvements to the camera, and possible even a port-less design, meaning, no USB-C or Lightning ports.

Apple already does this with the Apple Watch Ultra, its high-end Apple Watch, which offers additional improvements at an added cost.

This is all clearly still in flux which means we may not see this change until 2025 or later. That being said, if a really high-end, premium iPhone is something you'd be interested in, you might want to skip the iPhone 15 series and hold onto your current device until next year.

Buying a new iPhone right now might be tempting, but some of you might want to wait for the 2023 iPhone, presumably called iPhone 15.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your phone, you’ve got a ton of options to sift through. The iPhone 14 series represents the company’s top-of-the-line, but Apple’s got plenty of other devices that are worthy of your attention including the iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, and iPhone SE 3.

And while many of you will be perfectly fine buying one of these iPhones, or a device outside of Apple’s ecosystem, many others should consider waiting for the 2023 iPhone.

iPhone 15 Rumors

iPhone 15 rumors have been swirling for months and the company’s upcoming models sound like they’ll be worthy successors to the iPhone 14. On paper, at least.

Apple will likely keep four iPhone models around so look for Apple to launch an iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and a iPhone 15 Max.

We also expect Apple to keep the same screen sizes for all four models which means the ‌iPhone 15‌ and iPhone 15 Pro will likely be 6.1-inches while the ‌iPhone 15‌ Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be 6.7-inches. This has been backed up by a fairly prominent leaker.

We could see Apple make some big changes to the iPhone in 2023 and that puts those of you in the market for a new device in a tough position in 2023: Buy a new device now or wait?

In this guide we’ll take you through the best reasons to wait and the best reasons to go with another device long before the 2023 iPhones arrive.

Wait for Design Changes

Wait for Design Changes

Last year, Apple introduced a brand new pill-shaped notch the company calls Dynamic Island. Unfortunately, this change is only available on the company's high-end iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. That will likely change this year.

Analyst Ross Young believes Apple could bring Dynamic Island to the lower-end iPhone 15 models. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman does as well.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the iPhone 15's proximity sensor will be integrated into Dynamic Island. The proximity sensor on the iPhone 14 Pro models is under the display outside of Dynamic Island. This could lead to Face ID improvements.

This might give some of you considering Apple's iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus a reason to hold out and wait for the new models.

On the flip side, Young doesn't think the standard iPhone 15 models will get 120Hz/LTPO like the iPhone 15 Pro models. This has been backed up by another source who says the iPhone 15/iPhone 15 Plus won't get ProMotion and Always-On display capabilities.

We've heard the the iPhone 15 Max's design will be made out of titanium as opposed to stainless steel. The frame supposedly has a brushed finish.

Leaker ShrimpApplePro claims early information suggests Apple is indeed working on a titanium design. The leaker says the design may also incorporate curved rear edges and a glass back.

In a newer tweet, the leaker says the iPhone 15 Pro models will "have thinner bezels" with curved edges. The display is reportedly still flat, however.

ShrimpApplePro says additional sources now agree with the information and that the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro models will indeed be thinner.

In a tweet, well-known leaker Ice Universe says the iPhone 15 Pro Max will break the record for thinnest bezels on a smartphone. The record is currently held by the Xiaomi 13.

In a follow up tweet, he's shown off what are evidently glass displays and third-party screen protectors for the iPhone 15 series. The bezels are indeed extremely thin.

Analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities also believes the company is working to deliver a new titanium design. So does Gurman.

We've seen an iPhone 15 Pro dummy unit leak on the Chinese version of TikTok and it gives us a glimpse at what the device might look like. CAD images of the iPhone 15 Pro from 9to5Mac also show us what the final product could look like.

We've also heard the iPhone 15 Pro will have a new mute button that replaces the switch. This "Action" button could work like it does on the Apple Watch Ultra in that it will allow users to map it to different functions.

This new addition has seemingly been confirmed by the iOS 17 beta.

You can see it in AppleInsider's video above.

If you’re thinking about buying the 2023 iPhone, there are some steps you’ll want to take before the iPhone 15 release date arrives.

We don’t have an official iPhone 15 release date yet, but you can expect the new iPhones to land in September, shortly after iOS 17’s arrival.

Apple’s iPhone event is confirmed for September 12th which means iPhone 15 pre-orders should begin on Friday, September 15th, culminating with the iPhone 15 release date on September 22nd.

While it might seem like it’s a bit early to start prepping for the release, taking some steps ahead of time will ensure you’re fully prepared to buy a new device.

In this guide we’ll take prospective buyers through some crucial steps to take ahead of Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 15 launch later this year.

Track iPhone 15 Rumors

If you’re thinking about buying one an iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max, you’ll want to track the latest rumors as we push through the summer.

We’ve seen numerous reports outline potential iPhone 15 features and details and we’ll see plenty more in the days ahead as plans are finalized behind the scenes.

iPhone 15 rumors will fill in many of the key blanks and they’ll help you set proper expectations as we get closer to Apple’s announcement.

In addition to keeping an eye out for hardware and software rumors, you’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for release date and supply chain rumors.

For the latest iPhone 15 rumors, check out our guide.

Keep an Eye on Your Upgrade Eligibility

If you’re planning to buy an iPhone 15 model, or even if you’re interested in potentially picking one up, keep an eye on your upgrade status throughout the year.

If you aren’t eligible for an upgrade until late 2023, you might not be able to buy your new iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max right away.

That being said, carriers will sometimes bump your upgrade status so you’ll want to check in on it to see if anything changes in the buildup to Apple’s announcements.

Checking your current upgrade status is easy. Here’s how to quickly check your upgrade status online at VerizonAT&TT-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular.

Get Familiar with iOS 17

If you’re currently using a device that got left behind on iOS 15 (or older) or an Android phone, and you plan on upgrading to iPhone 15, you’ll want to get familiar with iOS 16, the current version of iOS.

If you own a newer iPhone model, you’ve probably upgraded to iOS 16 already and you can skip this step. If you’re still using an older version of iOS or you’ll be moving from Android, use this time to get comfortable with iOS. You can start with our guide to Apple’s software.

Apple’s confirmed its new iOS 17 operating system for iPhone. iOS 17 will be the software that powers the iPhone 15 series so it’ll be important to get familiar with it as well. And you can do that long before the iPhone 15 release date arrives.

The company’s pushed iOS 17 into beta testing. And if you own an eligible device, you can download a pre-release version of the software right now.

If you prefer to keep your devices on stable software, you’ll want to follow iOS 17’s progress from a distance. Either way, you’ll want to dig into the changes on board so you’re comfortable with the iPhone 15’s software.

For more about iOS 17’s features, have a look at our walkthrough.

Research iPhone Accessories

You should spend some time getting familiar with the best iPhone accessories. This way you’ll know exactly what to buy and how much to spend if you decide you want to pair your new iPhone with some extras.

We recommend reading reviews and digging into the best iPhone accessories long before Apple makes its announcements. Some accessories could drastically alter how you use your new phone.

Make sure you get a feel for potential costs, dig into the pros and cons of each manufacturer, and find the styles that appeal to you. This way, you’ll know exactly what to buy when the time comes to do so.

iPhone 15 accessories

One thing to keep in mind while you shop around: Apple will reportedly limit the iPhone 15’s USB-C port to Apple-approved accessories, which is also the case for the Lightning port.

This rumor has been backed by a well-known leaker who says the iPhone 15 will only support USB-C accessories that have been certified for Apple’s MFi (Made for iPhone) program. Cables that aren’t MFi certified may have data transfer and charging speed limits.

The EU has pushed back on these rumors, warning Apple these limitations won’t be permitted and would prevent the iPhone from being sold in EU countries.

Of course, Apple has until the end of 2024 to meet the EU’s proposed requirements so it’s possible the iPhone 15, and perhaps even the iPhone 16, have these limitations on board. However, given that Apple’s plans are just rumors right now, we could see the iPhone 15 series allow uncertified cables to reach proper charging and data transfer speeds.

The same leaker says USB-C MFi cables and Earpods are in mass production behind the scenes right now. Apple sells the current version of Earpods for $19, but it’s unclear how much the USB-C models will cost.

Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes USB-C will enable faster charging speeds on the iPhone 15 series though he says the upgrade will only be attainable with certified cables.

Japanese website Mac Otakara shared a video showing iPhone 15 dummy units compared to iPhone 14 cases and it looks like the tweaks Apple’s made to the iPhone 15’s design will render the upcoming flagships incompatible with cases from last year’s flagships.

This has seemingly been confirmed by another video from AppleInsider which you can view above.

Figure Out How Much Storage You Need

Start thinking about how much storage you might want on your iPhone 15. Picking the right amount of iPhone storage will help you save money and avoid headaches down the road.

While some of you will be perfectly fine with the least amount of storage, others will want the peace of mind that comes with having a lot of internal space available.

If you’re unsure about what you might need, have a look at our iPhone 14 storage guide. While the iPhone 15 storage sizes might not mirror these exactly, we’ve seen a 2TB iPhone 15 pop up in the rumor mill, the guide will give you a head start.

iPhone 15 Colors

9to5Mac claims they have the full list of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max color options and it looks like the company won’t release a gold iPhone 15 Pro. The company has offered a gold iPhone variant since 2018.

iPhone 15/iPhone 15 Plus Colors

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Pink
  • Yellow

iPhone 15 Pro/iPhone 15 Pro Max Colors

  • Blue
  • Gray
  • Space Black
  • Silver

Unknownz21, a leaker who has provided accurate information about Apple products in the past, says the iPhone 15 Pro blue variant will be a grayish blue and you can get a glimpse of the shade in photos created by MacRumors.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has thrown his weight behind the report and says the iPhone 15 Pro colors will likely be gray, white, black, and blue while the colors for the regular iPhone 15 models will be black, pink, yellow, blue, and green.

We recommend picking a favorite color so that you’re ready to buy once pre-orders begin.

Look Into Other iPhones

Before you make the decision to wait for the iPhone 15, you’ll want to research Apple’s current iPhone models. You might find an iPhone you really like long before the iPhone 15 arrives.

First, we recommend taking a look at Apple’s current flagships which include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

You’ll also want to look at the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. We also recommend taking a look at the budget iPhone SE 3.

Buying an iPhone 15 may seem like a good idea, but a lot of you might be better off buying another iPhone.

iPhone 15 Alternatives

We also recommend taking a look at the best current, and upcoming, iPhone 15 alternatives. You might find something you like outside of Apple’s ecosystem.

Make sure you check out phones like Google’s Pixel 7 before you decide to wait for the iPhone 15.

There are a bunch of excellent iPhone alternatives out there, but here are a few of our current favorites:

You’ll also want to keep an eye on upcoming iPhone 15 alternatives, like the Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S24, as well.

Make a Plan for Your Current Phone

If you plan to upgrade to an iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max make sure you have a plan for your current phone.

Some of you might know of a friend or relative who could make use of your current phone. Ask around and see if anyone might need a hand-me-down. You might also look into donating your phone to charity.

If you plan on selling your current device to help offset the cost of your iPhone 15, you’ll want to dig into prices at popular resellers.

You’ll also want to keep your current phone in pristine condition because that’s how you’ll get the most money back from those resellers, your carrier, or Apple when iPhone 15 trade-in offers go live.

We don’t know how much the iPhone 15 series will cost just yet, but rumors suggest Apple could shake things up in 2023.

A leak from micro-blogging site Weibo claims the price of both iPhone 15 Pro models could jump up. The blog doesn’t specify how much of a leap we’ll see.

Analyst Dan Ives believes we’ll see a price increase. Ives accurately predicted the iPhone 14’s price jump in international markets.

Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, believes the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be more expensive than the $1099 iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Bloomberg also says Apple is “considering” raising the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, this despite a projected decline in the overall smartphone market.

In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims we may see “minor price increases across all four models outside of the US.”

Gurman hasn’t ruled out a price increase in the United States, at least for the Pro models, due to the “move to titanium and the costlier camera system on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.”

Analyst Tim Long, from British bank Barclays, says that based on chatter from the supply chain, the iPhone 15 Pro could be up to $100 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro while the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be $100 to $200 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Digitimes says it’s also hearing the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will see their price increase by $100-200.

Fortunately, according to Bloomberg, U.S. carriers are prepared to offer big discounts to attract customers. Just how big remains to be seen.

Research AppleCare

If you’re planning to buy an iPhone 15, you’ll probably want to protect your investment. AppleCare will help you do that.

New iPhones come with a standard warranty, but Apple’s AppleCare is an extended warranty service that delivers far better support.

If you aren’t familiar with AppleCare’s benefits, you should research them when you have time. You should also look into AppleCare alternatives.

Decide on a Carrier

If you’re currently unhappy with your provider’s coverage or data plan, use this time to dig into competitors and see if you can find a better fit for your iPhone 15.

Each carrier has its pros and cons, but you might find one that stands out. If you’re interested in switching carriers, make sure you shop around.

The iOS 17 release date for iPhone is getting closer and some iPhone users might want to start preparing for its arrival right now.

Apple’s will push iOS 17 to iPhone users in mid-September shortly before it releases the new iPhone 15 series.

The company’s iPhone 15 event is confirmed for September 12th which means the iOS 17 release date will almost certainly land sometime during the week of September 18th.

If you don’t want to wait until mid-September, you can try the software on your iPhone right now via Apple’s iOS 17 beta.

The iOS 17 beta is an early version of the company’s new operating system. It gives developers, and those enrolled in Apple’s Beta Software Program, a chance to try new features and test for bugs and performance issues before the final version arrives.

If you decide to install the iOS 17 beta on your iPhone, you’ll want to prepare. This is particularly true if this will be your first time using iOS beta software on your iPhone.

If you’re thinking about installing iOS 17 on your iPhone, be it the beta or the final release, here are some tips that will come in handy as we push toward the iOS 17 release date this fall.

Prepare for the Installation

If you’re interested in downloading the developer or public iOS 17 beta, there are some steps you should take before installing the software on your iPhone.

We put together a pre-installation guide for the iOS 17 beta that will take you through some steps you should take before installing beta software on an iPhone.

Get Familiar with iOS 17

You should get familiar with iOS 17 right now. For most people, this will simply mean watching the WWDC 2023 playback. The company outlined many of iOS 17’s changes during the conference. It has also released a general guide to the software.

We’ve also released a guide that will take you through some of the more intriguing features on board the current version of the iOS 17 beta.

If you want to take it a step further, you might download the iOS 17 beta on your iPhone and go hands-on with all of the changes before the final release.

Most People Should Avoid the iOS 17 Beta

Installing the iOS 17 beta on your iPhone right now might be tempting, but most people should keep their device on stable  iOS 16 software.

The iOS 17 beta will help Apple fix bugs and performance issues before they become major headaches for millions of iPhone users around the world.

While it’s certainly fun to try out new features before they’re released to the public, iOS beta software can be extremely problematic.

The iOS 17 beta is causing problems for testers and you could run into some of the very same issues if you decide to install it on your iPhone.

While you might be able to fix some issues on your own, other bugs and performance issues will probably require a fix from Apple in a future update down the road.

If you rely on your iPhone to get through the day, you’ll want to stay put on whatever version of iOS your device is currently running.

Monitor Feedback from the Beta

If you decide to keep your daily driver on iOS 16, make sure you monitor feedback from iOS 17 beta testers as we push toward the update’s official release next month.

Monitoring feedback will alert you to potential iOS 17 problems and it will also reveal potential benefits coming with Apple’s new operating system.

More importantly, it might help you decide if you want to install iOS 17 on your iPhone right away or keep your device on stable software.

We’ve seen iOS 17 beta feedback emerge on sites like YouTube, Twitter, and the MacRumors forums so check those sites if you’re curious about the software’s performance in the buildup to the official release.

iOS 17 Release Time

Apple typically pushes new iOS software updates out in and around 10AM Pacific. That will likely be the case for the next iOS 17 beta and the final version of iOS 17.

We sometimes see iOS updates roll out 5-10 minutes after 10AM so there’s no need to panic if the software doesn’t popup in your iPhone’s Settings app right away.

Here’s what that looks like for other time zones in the United States:

  • Eastern – 1 PM
  • Central – 12 PM
  • Mountain – 11AM

Keep all of this in mind if you plan to install new versions of the iOS 17 beta, and/or the final version of iOS 17, right away.

iOS 17 Download Size

Most iOS operating system’s require a significant chunk of space. The first iOS 17 beta is around 3GB and we expect the final version of the software to command a large download as well.

You can expect long download times, especially right after Apple pushes the software live in the fall. The installation process could take quite a bit of time as well.

Once you pull iOS 17 from Apple’s servers, you might notice a prompt asking you to “Install” the software right now or “Later.” While most of you will probably want to install it right away, others might benefit from scheduling the installation.

If you do decide to schedule it, you can choose to install it while you’re sleeping or you can have your device remind you to install it at a later date when you’ve got some free time.

If you do decide to install the iOS 17 update overnight, you’ll have to plug your iPhone into a power source.

Prepare for iOS 17 Problems

Again, the iOS 17 beta is plagued by problems. This will be the case through the duration of the beta testing process. Some of these problems might make it into the final version as well.

Common problems include abnormal battery drain, Bluetooth issues, Wi-Fi problems, app instability, UI lag, crashes, and Exchange issues.

These problems appear after every single iOS release and there’s a good chance we’ll see them all popup immediately after the stable iOS 17 release.

It’ll be difficult to predict what kind of performance you’ll get on your iPhone so you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared to tackle any issues you encounter on day one and beyond.

We’ve released a list of fixes for common iOS 17 beta problems. If you don’t consider yourself an iOS expert, you’ll want to bookmark those fixes. We’ve also released guides to fixing bad iOS 17 beta battery life and iOS performance.

You’ll also want to bookmark or follow Apple Support on Twitter and bookmark the Apple Support page on the company’s website. You should also get familiar with Apple’s Discussion forums.

Learn How to Downgrade

If the iOS 17 beta starts causing problems on your iPhone, and you can’t seem to fix the issue(s), you may have to downgrade back to stable software.

If you already know how to downgrade, you’re good to go. If you aren’t familiar with the downgrade process, you’ll want to get familiar with it right now. That way, you aren’t scrambling if the beta starts acting up on your iPhone.

Keep Your Apps Updated

If you want the best possible experience on iOS 17, make sure you keep your apps updated.

Developers won’t update their apps with support for the iOS 17 beta. However, once we get closer to the official release, they will start to roll out updates with support for iOS 17.

These updates will help stabilize the new operating system’s performance and help your device make a smooth transition to new software.

Before you download an app update, make sure you read reviews from users. These reviews will alert you to potential benefits and problems with the latest version.

Take Your Time with iOS 17

iOS 17 is an exciting upgrade and some of you might be tempted to install the new operating system right when it drops this fall.

For some of you, particularly users dealing with iOS 16 problems, this might be the best decision. That said, some of you will be better off waiting a few hours, a few days or, in some cases, a few weeks before installing iOS 17.

There are plenty of reasons to skip new iOS software updates on day one so make sure you take your time. This goes for the beta as well.

Avoid iOS 17 If You’re Jailbroken

Avoid the iOS 17 beta if you still jailbreak your phone.

If you’re hoping for an iOS 17 jailbreak, don’t hold your breath. Jailbreak developers could surprise us, but we aren’t expecting a release.

If you still jailbreak your devices, you’ll need to stay put on an older version of iOS.

If you’re curious about the iOS 17 release date for iPhone, allow us to guide you through everything you need to know about it right now.

Apple’s confirmed iOS 17, the next operating system for the iPhone. The software is currently in development and it will bring new features, enhancements, and more to compatible iPhone models.

We don’t have a firm iOS 17 release date from Apple just yet, but we have a pretty good idea about what to expect from the software’s release window and release time for iPhone.

Our iOS 17 release date guide we’ll help you properly manage expectations and help you prepare for its arrival later on this year.

Which iPhones Will Get iOS 17?

Apple’s confirmed a full list of iOS 17 eligible iPhone models and most iOS 16-powered devices will make the move to the new operating system.

Unfortunately, three older iPhone models will stay put on iOS 16: iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. This is final and won’t change. Below is the list of eligible iPhones that will get upgraded to iOS 17 later this year:

iOS 17 Supported Devices

  • iPhone 14
  • iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 14 Pro
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 series, presumably called iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will run iOS 17 out of the box.

iOS 17 Beta

The official version of iOS 17 won’t land for a bit, but you can try Apple’s new operating system out on your iPhone this very minute.

There are two versions of the iOS 17 beta. There’s the developer beta and then there’s a beta for users in the company’s Beta Software Program. Both are available to download right now.

For more about the iOS 17 beta, check out our guide.

iOS 17 Beta Release Time

Apple usually pushes new beta software every couple of weeks with releases coming a bit more frequently as we approach the final release.

Like regular iOS updates, the company likes to release new iOS beta software around 10AM Pacific and that’s what you should expect from the iOS 17 beta moving forward.

iOS 17 Release Date

The iOS 17 beta will stretch into next month. As the testing process winds down, Apple will push the final version of the beta known as the Golden Master (GM). This will happen shortly before the stable version of the software arrives.

Apple typically pushes new iOS operating systems in September and that’s what you should expect from the iOS 17 release date right now.

Look for the iOS 17 release date to get confirmed on stage during Apple’s fall iPhone event for the upcoming iPhone 15 series. The event is confirmed for September 12th.

The iOS 17 release date for older iPhone models will land sometime between the iPhone 15 announcement and the iPhone 15 release date later on in the month.

With the September 12th date now confirmed, you can expect the iOS 17 release date to land sometime during the week of September 18th.

iOS 17 Release Time

Apple probably won’t confirm a specific iOS 17 release time, but the company almost always releases its software updates around 10AM Pacific on release day.

This means if you live in London, England you should see the iOS 17 update around 6PM in the evening. If you live in Melbourne, Australia, you’ll need to stay up late or wake up early if you want to install iOS 17 right when it’s released.

Major iOS releases like iOS 17 are often plagued with download issues as Apple’s servers get slammed with requests from eager iPhone users. Those of you looking to avoid download issues and error codes should wait a few hours before installing the iOS 17 update.

iPhone 15 Event: 5 Things to Expect from Apple is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

Apple is gearing up to announce new products this fall and we want to outline what you can expect from the company’s upcoming iPhone 15 event.

The iPhone 15 launch event is confirmed for September 12th and it kicks off at 10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern. We expect it to be a pre-recorded show with an in-person element built-in.

With that in mind, here’s what you can expect at the iPhone 15 event in September. From new iPhones, to new Apple Watches, the showcase will cover a lot of ground.

iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Pro

The iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max will undoubtedly be the stars of the show.

Apple is reportedly making some pretty big changes to the iPhone in 2023 and highlights include a new titanium design with a new Action button, USB-C in place of Lightning, improvements to the camera including a periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, a new processor in the Pro models, and more storage.

The devices won’t take a quantum leap from last year’s iPhone 14 series, we could see much bigger changes come in 2024 on the iPhone 16 series, but the iPhone 15 series is shaping up as a solid replacement for last year’s flagship.

In addition to outlining/marketing all of the changes it’s made to the iPhone, you can expect Apple to confirm the iPhone 15 pre-order date, price, and release date.

As of right now we expect all iPhone 15 models to go on sale in September though we could see at least one model’s (iPhone 15 Pro Max) release date get pushed into October.

Apple Watch 9

It looks like Apple will stick with a yearly upgrade cycle for the Apple Watch as well. The company is expected to announce two new versions of the Apple Watch and we’ll start with the Apple Watch Series 9.

Like the iPhone 15, we are expecting a fairly modest upgrade though the Apple Watch 9 should come with one change that may convince owners of older models like the Apple Watch 4 to upgrade.

Apple hasn’t upgraded the main processor inside the Apple Watch for three years running, but it looks like it will finally supply its smartwatch with a new processor.

The Apple Watch 9’s new processor will likely be based on the A15 chip the company first used in the iPhone 13. The improved chip should lead to better all-around performance in areas like speed and battery life.

We’re also expecting the new Watch models to come with some big software upgrades. watchOS 10, the operating system that will power the new devices, is a substantial upgrade and the Apple Watch 9 models should get exclusive features to help separate them from the Apple Watch 8 and older versions of the wearable.

Apple will confirm the Apple Watch 9 release date, price, and pre-order during the show. We expect it to go on sale shortly after the conclusion of the show.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

The other Apple Watch on tap for Apple’s iPhone 15 event is a new version of the Apple Watch Ultra, the company’s high-end model.

Like the Apple Watch 9 models, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will most likely be a refresh rather than a complete overhaul. It should include the same processor upgrade coming on board the Apple Watch 9.

We’ve also heard the Apple Watch Ultra 2’s design may be lighter than the original. The current version of the Apple Watch Ultra weighs a lot more, 61.3 grams vs. 32 grams, than the Apple Watch 8.

There’s also chatter about a new black titanium color.

iOS 17 & iPadOS 17

In addition to new hardware, you can expect Apple to confirm important information about its upcoming software.

We already mentioned watchOS 10, but the company is also hard at work on new software for the Apple TV, iPad, iPhone, and Mac.

During the iPhone 15 event, look for Apple to touch on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, the new operating systems coming to iPhone and iPad.

Both are currently in beta and while they don’t project as huge upgrades, they both have some very exciting features on board.

The iOS 17/iPadOS 17 release date will land sometime between the iPhone 15 announcement and the iPhone 15 release date. So, with the event now confirmed for September 12th, you can expect the iOS 17 release date to land the week of September 18th.

macOS Sonoma

Apple’s also cooking up a new version of macOS for Mac dubbed macOS Sonoma.

It’s also on the lighter side, but the operating is set to bring new screen savers, widgets on the desktop, and improvements to video conferencing to Mac users.

We’ll get a macOS Sonoma release date/release window confirmed on stage during the iPhone event and the software will probably land in October after iOS 17.

Wildcard: iPad mini 7

And finally, a wildcard. This is an announcement we’re not as confident about, but felt the need to include it because there’s certainly a chance it happens on stage during the fall event.

Apple’s reportedly working on several new iPad models. Among them, new iPad Pros, a new iPad Air 6, and a brand new iPad mini 7. Of these, only the iPad mini 7 has a chance to emerge this fall.

We’ve heard that we may see it join the iPhone 15 on stage. If it does, you can expect a very light refresh. A new processor will likely be the device’s main selling point.

Of course, there’s also a chance the iPad mini 7 misses this event and joins the new iPad Pros and iPad mini 6 in 2024.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is planning a launch for October so it’s possible the device arrives a month after the new iPhones.

It’s unclear if it will be a formal event or just a press release dump. As of right now, we expect the latter.

6 Reasons to Wait for the iPhone 15 & 5 Reasons Not To

You can see it in AppleInsider's video above.

iPhone 11 Problems: 5 Things You Need to Know is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

We continue to see complaints about iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max problems as we push into the new year.

A lot of the feedback about their performance is good. These are powerful devices with outstanding cameras and they are still worth a look if you’re in the market for a new smartphone. However, they aren’t perfect.

We’re seeing frustrated iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max users voice complaints about a variety of hardware and software problems.

We haven’t heard about any widespread issues, but we have seen sporadic complaints about various bugs, performance issues, and problems with their design.

With all of that in mind, we want to take you through the most important things to know, right now, about iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max issues.

This guide we’ll take you through the current state of these issues, potential fixes for problems, places to find feedback about problems, and what’s next in terms of iOS updates for these devices.

iPhone 11 Problems

If you’re having issues activating your new iPhone 11 model, check Apple’s System Status page. If it’s not showing green, you’ll want to wait until it’s green and then try activating the phone again.

If it’s green and it’s still not working, make sure you have a SIM card inserted in your iPhone. If you’re receiving a “No Sim” or “Invalid SIM” error, you’ll want to head to this guide for assistance.

Some iPhone 11 users are complaining about iCloud Restore issues. This is another common problem with new iPhones. If you run into issues restoring from iCloud, head here for some potential fixes.

We’re also hearing about Face ID problems, issues with first and third-party applications, RAM management problems, Exchange problems, iCloud issues, visual voicemail problems, Bluetooth issues, Wi-Fi issues, sound problems, and quite a few complaints about abnormal battery drain.

A number of iPhone 11 users are also complaining about scratched displays and you can read more about those complaints in our report.

We expect the list of iPhone 11 problems to grow as more people adopt these devices in 2023 and beyond.

Where to Find Feedback

If you’re thinking about buying an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone Pro Max, or if you already own one, you’ll want to monitor feedback from owners of these phones. This feedback will alert you to potential issues with the hardware and software.

We recommend keeping an eye on YouTube, Apple’s discussion forums, social media sites like Twitter, and the MacRumors forums for ongoing feedback about these devices.

We’ve put together a list of the best reasons to, and not to, install the latest version of iOS 15. The current version for the iPhone 11 series is iOS 15.7.1.

Apple’s pushed a new iOS 16.4 update to the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone Pro Max. We’ve released a guide that will take you through the best reasons to move your phone to the latest version of iOS 16.

How to Fix iPhone 11 Problems

If you run into a problem on your new iPhone, there’s no need to panic. There’s a good chance you’ll be able to avoid taking it into an Apple Store or your local carrier store for help.

First, take a look at our list of fixes for the most common iOS problems. It will take you through fixes for common issues like broken Bluetooth and busted Wi-Fi.

We’ve also released some tips to help you improve performance and a guide that could help you improve battery life if you’re noticing abnormal drain.

If you can’t find a fix for your issue in our guides, you’ll want to check Apple’s discussion forums for potential fixes for your problem(s).

If you can’t find anything there, it’s time to get in touch with Apple and you can do so via the company’s support account on Twitter. You can also get in contact with Apple Support via the company’s website.

If you’d rather explain your issue in person, you should take your new phone into your local Apple Store and see if they can diagnose your problem. If you’ve got an Apple Store in your area, and it’s open, you’ll want to schedule a Genius Bar appointment.

Your iPhone is currently under warranty so they might offer you a replacement if the problem is serious enough.

How to Downgrade iPhone 11 Software

If you’re having issues on your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max, you can try downgrading back to older software if the option is available.

If you’re unfamiliar with the downgrade process our guide will walk you through everything you need to know.

What’s Next

If your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max is struggling, you’ll probably be on your own for a bit.

Apple’s reportedly working on a new iOS 16.7 update. We expect the software to roll out in September alongside Apple’s new iOS 17 operating system this fall.

As for iOS 17, the company will push the operating system to the iPhone 11, iPhone 11, Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max later this year, probably sometime in mid-September.

For more about iOS 17 and its release, take a look at our guide.

Apple’s new iPhone isn’t official yet, but the 2023 iPhone models will go on sale in a few weeks. We’ve been getting a lot of questions about iPhone 15 pre-orders and we’ll answer as many as we can in this guide.

The company’s finally confirmed the iPhone 15 event date yet and, as expected, it’s set to take place in mid-September.

If you’ve followed an iPhone launch before, you know that new iPhones typically don’t go on sale immediately after the announcement. Apple likes to put a gap between the announcement, the pre-order date, and the release date.

With that in mind, here’s what you need to know about iPhone 15 pre-orders as we push into September toward the company’s announcement.

iPhone 15 Pre-Order Date

As we mentioned, Apple’s confirmed the iPhone 15 event and it will take place on Tuesday, September 12th. This means iPhone 15 pre-orders for all models should begin on Friday, September 15th.

Apple’s expected to release four iPhone 15 models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. While they may not share a release date, we expect them to share the same pre-order period.

Assuming the models arrive at the same time, you can expect the iPhone 15 pre-order period to stretch from September 15th to September 22nd. Apple typically keeps pre-orders open for a week.

It’s possible we see multiple iPhone 15 release dates and there’s a very good chance we see shipping delays impact pre-orders. If you have your heart set on a specific iPhone 15 variant, you may want to put in a pre-order ASAP.

iPhone 15 Pre-Order Time

That brings us to the iPhone 15 pre-order time. Apple hasn’t confirmed, it won’t until the event, but based on previous years, we have a good feeling we know when iPhone 15 pre-orders will start.

In recent years, Apple and its partners have opened up iPhone pre-orders at 5AM Pacific. That’s what we expect from the iPhone 15’s pre-order time as well.

If you live on the west coast of the United States, and you want to buy an iPhone 15 model the second pre-orders open up, be prepared to wake up early. Of course, waking up early won’t guarantee the model you want, but it gives you the best chance.

Like the pre-order date, look for Apple to confirm the pre-order time in the U.S., and other regions, on the day of its fall showcase.

Where to Buy the iPhone 15

Once iPhone 15 pre-orders start, you’ll be able to buy the device at a number of different places. From Apple, to your carrier, to retailers, there won’t be a shortage of options.

As we’ve noted many times in the past, the Apple Store app is often the quickest, and easiest, way to pre-order a new iPhone. The app is free to download and it lets you buy the iPhone the same way you would through Apple’s website.

You can expect the iPhone 15, iPhone Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max to be compatible with a wide range of carriers, so if you aren’t stuck with one, make sure you shop around before pre-orders begin.

iPhone 15 Price & Trade-Ins

There’s been a ton of back and forth about the price of the iPhone 15. While nothing is confirmed yet, it does look like the iPhone 15 Pro price could jump up a bit.

Most sources believe the price will increase by $100-200. For instance, analyst Tim Long from British bank Barclays, says that based on chatter from the supply chain, the iPhone 15 Pro could be up to $100 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro while the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be $100 to $200 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

That might be a tough pill to swallow, but know that there will be trade-in offers available when iPhone 15 pre-orders begin. These will help you save money. In some cases, a lot of it.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. carriers are prepared to offer big discounts to make the iPhone 15 series more attractive to their customers.

We don’t know how much they’ll offer, but if you own a newer device and plan to trade it in, make sure you keep it in pristine condition in the buildup to the iPhone 15 release. This is how you’ll get the most money back.

6 Reasons to Wait for the iPhone 15 & 5 Reasons Not To

If you want a device that’s comparable to Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, there are some excellent alternatives out there.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are Apple’s flagship devices and they come with the company’s best processor, cameras, and software. They’re two of the best smartphones money can buy. They’re also quite expensive.

Without a device to trade-in, the iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 while the larger iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at a whopping $1099. That might be too expensive for a lot of shoppers in the current economic climate.

Fortunately, there are very solid iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max alternatives out there and they’re worth a look if you’re looking for a similar device.

Best iPhone 14 Pro Alternatives

In this guide we’ll take you through the best iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max alternatives money can buy and help you find a device that fits your needs and your budget.

iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Plus

If you can’t afford an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, but still want a top of the line iPhone, look no further than Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

The other two members of the iPhone 14 series aren’t as powerful as the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but they’re still excellent devices and solid alternatives if you’re determined to get a newer iPhone model and stay in Apple’s ecosystem.

While you won’t get a display with 120Hz refresh rate, Dynamic Island, or an Always-On display, Apple’s cheaper iPhone 14 models do share some things in common with their more expensive counterparts.

For example, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come with Crash Detection, Emergency SOS via satellite, and an upgraded front-facing camera for improved FaceTime calls.

The iPhone 14 starts at $799 while the iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899. They aren’t the cheapest iPhone 14 Pro alternatives, but there’s a chance they suit your needs.

iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max

If you don’t the latest and greatest features, Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the flagships from 2021, are absolutely worth a look.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max utilize older hardware, but they’re still capable devices and offer excellent battery life, solid cameras, wireless charging, and big, beautiful displays.

You’ll miss out on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max features like the pill-shaped Dynamic Island cutout (instead of the standard notch), a higher-resolution camera, a brighter display, Always-On display, and satellite connectivity, but for many of you, those differences will be negligible.

It also helps that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple has also begun selling refurbished versions of the iPhone 13 series on its website giving you another option on your quest to find a good iPhone 14 Pro alternative.

Samsung Galaxy S23

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is the latest from Apple’s popular Android competitor and it’s comprised of three devices: the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is the device that’s probably most comparable to the iPhone 14 Pro models, but don’t dismiss the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+.

Like the iPhone 14 Pro models, the Galaxy S23 series comes equipped with powerful specs. They feature Snapdragon’s latest processor, impressive cameras, and outstanding battery life.

Of course, picking a Galaxy S23 model over the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max means picking Android and Samsung’s One UI software over iOS. That might be a hurdle for some shoppers, but if you aren’t opposed to leaving Apple’s ecosystem, Samsung’s is a worthy alternative.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is the high-end model and commands an iPhone 14 Pro-like price. However, there are plenty of deals out there and you shouldn’t have to pay anything near full price. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ aren’t as powerful, but they’re cheaper.

Make sure you go hands-on with Samsung’s 2023 flagships before you commit to a new iPhone or another Android-powered device.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google’s Pixel 7 Pro should also be on your shopping list. It’s one of the best Android devices on the market.

Google sells two version of the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. However, the the Pixel 7 Pro is most comparable to the iPhon 14 Pro models thanks to its premium set of features.

The Pixel 7 Pro features a massive 6.7-inch OLED display with 1440 x 3120 resolution and the same 120Hz refresh rate as the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It also comes with 12 GB of RAM, Google’s Tensor G2 processor, a 50 MP Octa PD Quad Bayer wide camera, 12 MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and 48 MP Quad Bayer PD telephoto camera.

On top of that, it comes with Google’s sleek version of Android and a price point that many people prefer to the skins used by Android OEM’s like Samsung.

Google’s Pixel 7 Pro starts at $749 for the 128GB model. The 256GB variant will run you $849 while the larger 512GB Pixel 7 Pro is $949. All of these variants are cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

You can buy the Pixel 7 Pro directly from Google or from retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

If price isn’t a problem, you may also want to check out Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 5 which is even more expensive than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but also has some unique features to help set it apart.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is one of the latest models in Samsung’s Galaxy Z series and it’s a foldable device that gives you access to two display sizes.

On the outside, it has a 6.2-inch cover display. The inner display is a foldable 7.6-inch screen which supports Samsung’s S Pen stylus. This makes it ideal for those who love to multitask.

The device also has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens putting it in the upper echelon of devices on the market right now.

It’s certainly different, but the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is worth a look if you want a device that’s different. You can buy the Galaxy Z Fold 5 directly from Samsung or via retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

OnePlus 11

We also recommend taking a peek at the OnePlus 11, the latest flagship from OnePlus.

Like Apple’s flagships, the OnePlus 11 comes equipped with high-end hardware that should be more than capable of handling your needs.

It has a massive 6.7-inch display which falls in line with the iPhone 14 Pro Max in terms of size, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB RAM, and a triple camera setup which features a 50 MP main camera, a telephoto lens, and an Ultra-wide camera.

It runs OnePlus’ version of Android, which the company calls Oxygen OS. You’ll want to get familiar with it before you buy as it differs from the version of Android running on Samsung and Google’s devices.

One other plus? It’s cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. You can snag the OnePlus 11 for just $699 without a deal.

You can buy the OnePlus 11 at retailers like Amazon.

Upcoming iPhone 14 Alternatives

We’ll see additional iPhone 14 Pro alternatives launch this fall and in early 2024.

Alternatives include Apple’s iPhone 15 series which should include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These devices should arrive in September with September 12th looking like their launch date.

Google’s working on new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models and we expect them to arrive sometime in the fall as well, probably sometime in  October.

As for Samsung, the company is cooking up a new Galaxy S24 series and these models (Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra) should arrive in the early part of 2024.

4 Reasons Not to Install iOS 17 Beta & 11 Reasons You Should is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

While some iPhone users might want to install the iOS 17 beta right now, many others are much better off keeping their device on iOS 16.

There are plenty of reasons to consider trying iOS 17 out today. The iOS 17 beta includes a bunch of interesting changes including upgrades to phone calls, Messages, and more.

While it’s exciting to try out new features ahead of their official release for iPhone, there are also some great reasons to avoid the iOS 17 beta.

Pre-release software is typically plagued with issues and iOS 17 beta is no different. Beta testers are reporting a variety of issues with the software.

If you run into bugs or performance problems, you can jump back down to iOS 16. However, you can only downgrade back to iOS 16.6. You can’t move your phone’s software back to anything older than that.

This means moving to the iOS 17 beta a pretty big decision for those of you running iOS 16.5.1 or older. Once you make the move, there’s no getting back.

Apple will improve iOS 17 over time and some of you will want to wait for the additional polish upcoming versions of the iOS 17 beta will provide. Others will simply want to stay put on stable iOS 16 software.

If you’re on the fence, allow us to guide you through some of the best reasons to try the iOS 17 beta and the best reasons to wait or avoid the beta completely.

Install to Help Improve Apple Improve iOS 17

Install to Help Improve Apple Improve iOS 17

Trying new features before they are officially released is exciting, but that's just part of it. Using the iOS 17 beta will also help Apple squash issues before they reach millions of iPhone users around the world.

Your feedback about the iOS 17 beta's performance could help the company discover a nasty bug or a glitch ahead of the final release later this year.

If you're sick of dealing with issues or sick of hearing friends and family complain about problems, think about giving the iOS 17 beta a try.

If you decide to download the iOS 17 beta and find an issue on board, make sure you report it to Apple. This way, engineers can get to work on a permanent fix.
